The name says it all - this paddle was designed for tripping using
input from Algonquin Park Guides. The paddle comes with a modified
Northwoods Grip allowing a variety of hand positions. It's our most rugged
paddle with lots of blade surface. We've designed the blade narrower
at the tip - which minimizes downward forces during stroke initiation,
and wider at the shoulder - which maximizes blade surface during the
power phase of the stroke. Blade dimensions are: 29" long by 5.75" at
its widest point (shoulder of blade). These specs. are standard with
paddles 58" to 62" in length. With shorter and longer paddles, the
blade and shaft are lengthened or shortened in 1" increments.
